Glen Gates is a seasoned Fresno attorney with a broad range of courtroom and appellate experience. He has served as a pro tem judge, argued cases before the Fifth District Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court, and appeared in federal trial courts as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He’s admitted to practice in all California state courts and in federal courts in both California and Colorado.
An active participant in his profession, Glen belongs to the Central California Bankruptcy Association, the Fresno County Family Law Section, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Over the years he has also engaged with numerous creditor and debtor groups, staying at the forefront of both bankruptcy and family law developments.
Outside the office, Glen balances his dedication to clients with a love of golf, cycling, team roping, and coastal getaways. He’s traveled to four continents for business and pleasure and shares a passion for animal welfare with his wife, Maureen. Together they support the Beagle Freedom Project, the Humane Society of the United States, and the ASPCA.
Born and raised in Aurora, Colorado, Glen learned the value of hard work early—helping his father build basements in Denver at age twelve instilled in him the ethic that effort is never wasted. After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974, he moved to California, worked by day, and attended San Joaquin College of Law at night. Upon passing the California Bar, he launched a practice focused on family law, bankruptcy, and civil litigation—and has steadily grown a loyal client base ever since.
